Very Very Very Bad News

This is Karl. First I have to apologize: I posted and signed in Anastasia's name the last couple of days. I was trying hard not to face the horrible truth:
Anastasia is missing since Tuesday, August 21, early afternoon.

The staff is a mess.

We don't know what happened to her, but for her to not show herself in such a long time means she can't.
The maid and the butler hiked the desert for hours, calling for her. Nothing.
She has never done this, even if she stayed out overnight, she would show herself to let us know she's around.

Please pray for a miracle.

I might not be blogging for a while but I will keep you posted.

Lots of crying out here - we will not give up hope, but it looks very bad.

PLEASE send her your purrs.

Karl

Oh Karl, I'm so sorry to hear that Anatasia is missing! I will pray for her to come home soon!

But try not to worry too much if she doesn't come back right away. When my mom was growing up, one of their cats, an indoor-only cat named Princess, somehow managed to slip out the door and she went missing. They searched high and low for her (the house was very close to a wooded area), put up signs across the neighbourhood, and spent a lot of time out looking for her. She was gone for weeks and weeks. Finally, about 6 weeks later, she showed up on the doorstep. She was very thin and they immediately took her to the vet. Fortunately, other than weight loss and some dehydration, she was fine.

Her personality changed after that, though. Before, she had always been a very shy, "stand-offish" kind of cat, hiding from people and not very affectionate. After her experience, she became incredibly affectionate and loving.

I will pray for Anatasia's quick return. Sendings hugs and purrs your way.

Oh no Karl! Please come home Ana!! I don't know if you remember Luna's story. Her blog address is Gatubelas=^_^=. She escaped from the vet's office and was missing I think for around 6 weeks too. Her mombean thought she was lost for good and they found Luna! Don't give up hope. Maybe somebody took her in. Just keep posting signs and checking in with Animal Control and SPCA. We will definately be keeping you in our thoughts and purrayers.

If you're interested, Luna's ordeal started August/Agosto 18, 2006. She writes in Spanish 1st then in English so her English amigos can read too.

Oh no Karl. :'( This really is horrible! The truth is that I know how Anatasia is feeling, I took a few days trip myself last April and letting the other cats and our mommies in total horror, loss, fear and disbelief for days.

I've learned from it and we all will purrr very loud for her to be save and come back. We also send purrrrs to you, Karl, and the maid and the butler.

Thank you everybody!
The truth is: Anastasia would run away from every human being as far and fast as she can (ex-feral). And she knows her way around here, she IS an outdoor cat, even if we are in at night. SO for her not showing can only mean one thing: something prevents her. She could be injured is all I can think off. I try hard not to think about the bobcat. I feel lost.
Karl
Thank you for your support, we keep purring for her too.

Victor Tabbycat said...

Hey, Karl, don't furget to ask yur naybors to check in their sheds an garages an maybe cars they don't use much. She mite be trapped sumwhere like that! Our naybor's kitty spent a nite in our garage once.

Karl, I wish this were a joke, but I know that it is not. I got out of my house last week, but luckily I was only gone for an hour. I will not stop thinking about Anastasia and praying for her until she is home safe and sound. I hope you are okay, Karl.

Oh purrs and purrs and purrs for a miracle!

Is it possible she explored another garage or something and is locked in? That happened to Momma's cat when she was growing up. The people didn't normally have their garage open and Jet went into explore and was gone for two days. We'll hope that it is something like that and she'll get home and be very hungry

Oh and Jet wasn't a friendly cat either--the people weren't around when she went IN!

The Cat Realm said...

I see more and more people suggested she got locked in a garage or something. We live in a very remote part of town, no garages, only a few neighbors and they all know about her, even if they never see her because she is so human avoidance. We would hope it would be something like that - but there is really no human made structure out here where she could have gotten into...
And she ALWAYS stayed fairly close to the house, closer than I do, I just have this bad feeling about it. But I won't give up hope, no I won't. And the staff is very supportive to me, only their faces are wet all the time...

Yes, we wanted to ask about that too before we offered the locked up suggestion.

But please don't give up hope. That's the most important thing. It is very hard if there seems to be nowhere where she can be and she hasn't come home, but there are always miracles.

Oh, no. Anatasia, please come home.

You and your staff have probably already covered this ideas, but just for completeness...

Is there any way Anatasia could have gotten trapped under the house? Are there any rocks, caves, gullies, or the like where she could have gotten trapped? Is there food and water out to keep her going outside?

We suppose the 'good news' is that you haven't found Anastasia body yet, so there is still hope.

oh dear friends. we're very sorry to hear this.
maybe your beans can leave dirty laundry outside so she can smell it (also vacuum cleaner bag insides cause it smells like your house). i'm sure they looked under bushes and stuff.
my mommy volunteers at a local shelter and they tell people to check shelters in a 20 mile radius because people often take found animals to the shelter closest to where they live, not where the animal was found.
We'll be purring and praying very hard for Anastasia's quick and safe return. Big hugs to you all.

Oh, Karl, that is very distressing news about Anastasia! We only hope that she was like me. When I was much younger, I ran away from home on two separate occasions a year apart. I stayed away for about two weeks each time and I worried my mom to death. She put up searched the neighborhood, posted signs, and called both the county and city shelters. I returned unharmed both times. I never told anyone where I went. Sometimes a girl just likes some secret adventures. I HOPE that is the case with Ana!

We're purring for her.

We are crying here with you.
But like others have said, DO NOT GIVE UP!
And when she does come back, get her to a VET ASAP to have her liver watched!
If she is trapped somewhere and can't get home to you, she is not eating. It's so important that you get her medical help to be sure her liver is OK after fasting, OK? (Mosaic Lady has her own story of a friend's cat who disappeared for many days, came back, and then died of liver failure from fasting!)
We will pray for you all during the night tonight.

I know that this sounds very kooky, but I've heard of animal communicators who helps people find their lost pets here is one that I found http://www.calmpet.com/lost_story3.html. I think this is the lady that helped a friend of a friend.

Karl, we're praying so hard that Ana make it home to you all soon. We also are praying for you and your family.

Mosaic Cats said...

Karl and Staff,
We just came back to check for news and saw Tyler's suggestion. We totally agree.
We went to Lydia Hiby's site (she was one of 3 pet communicators that Mosaic Lady consulted after Walter died), and Lydia links to the same woman that Tyler recommended for lost pets, and there is even a phone number:

http://www.lydiahiby.com/links.shtml

We think it is totally worth a try. What do you have to lose?
Or you might just start googling pet communicators in your area and use your intuition to find the ones you are meant to use right now to help Anastasia and the Staff. That is what ML did in May. It's very, Very Hard. We know that. We are with you. We really, really feel your pain. Let us know if we can do anything at all, even if just listen. You are very blessed to have each other, you three. Hang on to that.
