Thursday Thirteen

Here are 13 reasons for you to accept IDYA#3 (I Dare You All #3) which will be posted tomorrow, Friday November 2nd at 7 am Pacific Time.

1 - Once again: you do not have to wear a pink wig.

2 - As a matter of fact: you do not have to wear ANYTHING.

3 - You can dare your nomss friend to do it too. And if you don't have a nomss friend this is a good opportunity to make one.

4 - It will be a lot of fun for you to do.

5 - You do not need Photoshop! The use of any picture editing program is actually strongly discouraged!

6 - You might feel really good after doing it.

7 - You will receive another fabulous button to put on your blog.

8 - One word: REVENGE!

9 - It will be revealing.

10 - It will be fun to watch how the others do it.

11 - It will be a bit different from what you usually do.. .

12 - If we get more participants than we had at the last Dare we will ALL wear the Groucho Marx glasses!

13 - It was Anastasia’s last Dare. She had it all written down right after the Pink Wig Challenge and then I came up with my nomss friend idea and got so excited about it that she said: “What the hell Karl. Just do it, I can wait.” She couldn’t, as it turned out. So I hope you will all accept the challenge in honor of her!

Those last two points should be reason enough for everybody to attend!!!!

Thursday Thirteen

Here we go again! 13 things about yesterday's picture...

1. The poor squillion was abandoned and put up for sale ($1.-!) at a local thrift store. The maid had never heard of squillions, let alone seen one, before I started blogging. But having been exposed to them now she felt that she needed to rescue it. Which she did. I immediately gave it some glasses (also from the thrift store…) so it fits in. No name yet. Suggestions anybody?

2. No, the cat in yesterday’s picture is NOT ME. I think
Dragonheart was the only one to actually realize that. But it is understandable - even the staff has problems…. We look VERY much alike!

3. His name is Emil, after
Emil und die Detektive.

4. He is almost four month old, really big for his age, and already neutered.

5. Mrs. OZ and I had informed the staff that we will agree to tolerate each other, stop with the hissing and be amiable but most probably there will not be much wrestling, chasing, or cuddling in our mutual relationship.

6. I should have known that was a bad move…. A day later Emil arrived….

7. It seems the staff is determined to have a wrestling, chasing, playing buddy for me again.

8. How do they come up with all these cats in need??? Apparently Emil was born to a feral cat who rejected him and his two sisters, so a friend of the butler raised them. And was of course looking for homes right when the staff realized that Mrs. OZ wasn’t working as a play partner….

9. Emil prefers to play with the staff. Probably because he was raised by beans he takes to them more than to other cats. With one exception: Mrs. OZ, can you believe it!

10. So here is the situation: I wouldn’t mind playing with Emil, grooming him and maybe cuddle a bit. But he doesn’t really let me.

11. Emil would love to socialize with Mrs. OZ, who HATES him! (You should hear the hissing!)

12. Mrs. OZ only wants to sit on the staff, maid or butler makes no difference to her.

13. I hope it will all be sorted out. But if they add one more cat I will emigrate!!!
I mean it!!!

Free Burma! and Thursday Thirteen

Free Burma!

Thursday Thirteen: 13 things about yesterday's picture:

1. Maybe it was a hallucination. Or possibly a stuffed animal.

2. It could be temporary.

3. Afraid not. I overheard the staff talk...

4. It is called 'Rita'. I immediately changed that name to Mrs. Hissy Ohnezahn.

5. She hisses at me.

6. She doesn’t have upper canines (therefore the strange expression on her face, her lower canines stick out like little vampire teeth).

7. 'Ohne Zahn' means 'without tooth' in German. Hissy is self explanatory...

8. I really do miss Anastasia! That would never have happened with her in the house! She would not ever have tolerated another cat! Never!

9. So what if Mrs. Hissy Ohnezahn needed a home. And the staff thinks I need a companion. Come on guys, it isn’t quiet that simple...

10. So far Mrs. Hissy spends most her time up in that niche over the fireplace. And when she sees me she hisses at me. And she looks like a total bore. I don’t think she is interested in any kind of recreational activity, let alone playing with me.

11. The staff tells me she is about a year older than I am, which makes her around 6 years of age and that she really needed a better home than the one she was in. Why mine???

12. O.K. Now if she really needed a home and will let up with the hissing and stuff she can stay. You know me, I am Mr. Do-Good, right? Just don’t get on my nerves, Mrs. Hissy Ohnezahn!!! But no matter if you drop the hissing or not – you are stuck with the name!

13. And eventually you will have to wear glasses, too!

Thirteen Facts about my Pet

I had so many questions about my pet yesterday that I decided to do a Thursday Thirteen about him:

1. He does not have a harness or a leash, I walk him around the house every morning. He heels pretty good and he follows word commands

2. He sees a vet on a regular basis and had all his shots

3. He does not eat the greens in his cage, those are HIS pets. He gets vegetables from the garden, just to the left of his cage. He has a main staple of rice and veggies, some meat, fruit, and instead of Temptations he gets dark chocolate.

4. He only has to be in the cage when he misbehaves (rarely!) or for his own protection – say, when IRS would come (whatever IRS is, I don’t know, but it seems that beans have a natural fear-and-flight response…)

5. I didn’t need to capture him, no butterfly net needed. He seems quiet content to stay in the vicinity of the house. And me.

6. He is well trained and knows a lot of tricks!

7. He requires almost no mainttenance as I have trained him to take care of himself.

8. No stroller. I did allow him one of those loud, stinky machines with wheels that beans seem to like and he operates it by himself – no freaking way I go into one of those!

9. Those glasses are his own. No one is allowed to wear Anastasia’s glasses. Neither why she was here, nor now after she has gone to the bridge!

10. No, I will not provide him with a mate! I do allow him time to himself and whatever he does then – I do not even want to know!

11. He is not an exotic. Plain old domestic paleskin.

12. Yes, he has a litterbox, though it looks somewhat different than mine…

13. He is legal and has all his papers!

Thursday Thirteen

Anastasia allowed me to do the next I Dare You All… because she was very intrigued by my proposal! And I am extremely excited!
Here are 13 reasons why you should accept the IDYA #2 challenge which will be posted this coming Sunday morning, August 5 at 9:30 EST:

1 - you do not have to wear a pink wig.

2 - you do do not have to wear ANYTHING if you don’t want to…

3 - it will still be fun.

4 - you do not need photoshop!

5 - you probably feel really good afterwards.

6 - you will receive another fabulous button to put on your blog.

7 - it might make the net a better place.

8 - it could be a lasting experience.

9 - I really poured my heart in it and would be crushed if not many participate…

10 - you might learn something.

11 - it is 1 great challenge, coming up in 3 days: 1 and 3 = 13!

12 - you can wear a pink wig while doing it…

13 - Anastasia made a bet that if I get more participants than she did for the pink wig dare she will post a picture of herself in Groucho Marx glasses and a party hat!

And that last point alone should be reason enough for everybody to attend!!!!
