Outdoor Cats...

As you may know we all were rescued from the outside and are still allowed to go outside during the day but not at night. We of course don't always obey....
Here you see how Notty broke out some nights ago. He was found the next morning sitting in the front yard.

And on the rare occasions when we have to stay inside during the day (staff knowing they'll be back only after sunset...) we try our very best to dig our way out as you can see by the destruction caused to carpet and cat door at the maid's place...

Here is the butler's cat door, Notty is just coming in:

They used to secure this with one brick at night...

...but I, Karl, just MOVED that out of the way and escaped! Now the door at night looks like this, hahahahahahahahahahahaha

And if the staff is around and locks us up too early - they get an earful! Same in the morning - we wake them up precisely five minutes before sunrise every morning with loud unhappy screams! Hahahahahahahahaha - at least they don't have to buy alarm clocks!
And here are more pictures of the kitties:

Once when my brother Whiskers was still alive me and him busted a screen out of a window to escape outside. ~Socks (Mommy said it looked like a scene from Cats in Black)

Sometimes we don't come in when we are suppose to either. ~Scylla & Charybdis

We have the same rules around here, except that me, momma and Nigel don't go outside at all. Everyone else has to wait until it's light in the morning and then they get rounded up at night before dark...we have not been so creative as to bust out like you guys!!! That takes talent. Be careful out there!

I don't get to go outside. You are pretty smart kitties!

sounds like a contest. Guess the maid and butler are winning most of the time.

I'm an outside by day, inside by night kitty too, so I know your frustrations. LOVE your persistence!

P.S. I haven't visited you guys for a while, so have only just learned about Luna. I'm so sorry. But I'm happy to welcome Coco and Dame Edna to the blogosphere!

It takes more than one brick to keep a man cat inside. And a mere screen door? Ha!

(But, be careful out there...)

What tricky kitties you all are. The stack of bricks in front of the cat door made us laugh.

We broke our cat door trying to escape several years ago and mum had to block it up at night. Since dad built our eight foot high purrison fence nearly three years ago, we don't try to escape. We are allowed in the garden 24/7 if we want to, and as long as mum takes us for a walk every day in the fields, we are happy.
We have given you an award which you can collect from our blog. It will be up at midnight our time, 4pm PST.

Oh, so much has been happening in your lives since I last visited!

I'm so sorry you lost sweet Luna, but glad you were able to rescue and give a forever home to Coco and Dame Edna.

I laughed at the pictures of both cat doors. I wish I'd had some spare bricks when Alfie and Simba first came here (I have bricks but they're all holding down the recycling boxes, which tend to blow away in the slightest breeze if not held down, lol!). Simba nearly broke the cat door, so I put up a barrier of really heavy stuff but he kept managing to knock it down and he pulled the trim off from round the cat door! Amazing as he's a very small kitty! Pictures on my bloggie on 4th July post http://black-cats-follies.blogspot.com/2009/07/caramel-cats-settle-in.html! :)

Umm, the five minutes to dawn schedule sounds oddly familiar. The torn screen also looks familiar. Wonder why?

Snicker - from one outdoor kitty to another.
