he didn't feel so well for quiet a while and the time came yesterday when he had to go to the bridge, to be re-united with his brother roscoe.

bora bora day

as you might remember - or maybe not - ruis and i took a trip to bora bora for our first wedding anniversary!
we had a beautiful little hut by the water
and did a lot of water sports.
then we got a surprise visitor and sure enough
the next day we had many more!

now gracie has decided to go to bora bora to teach her human a lesson and invited us all to come along!

we decide to go by submarine, the way we had left last time and ruis and i are in the same little house we had the last time.

and of course we right away go to the beach again to frolic in the water!

then we decide to do something we hadn't done the last time: we visit a marae, a communal or sacred place which serves religious and social purposes. asta really liked that tiki, hahahahahahahaha!

and in the evenings we sit together and watch the beautiful sunsets and enjoy each others company! once again the gang (karl and ruis, momo, asta, opus and ollie and our new member gracie) is united! thank you, gracie.

you might remember the cafe where the wedding party took place...

and would you believe it - when we finally decided it was time to go home - we couldn't find the way back to our vacation home anymore! gracie got really anxious - it was dark, we are in a foreign country - but we have NO idea WHERE... her driving might have gotten a bit erratically. and sure enough - the police stopped us and had gracie do a breathalyzer test....

but of course she didn't drink. and would never drive under the influence! but as we others had had quiet a lit of nip, nip champgne, nip martinis, nip-you-name-it the police arrested us nevertheless......

as it turned out they brought us to this old prison, which LOOKED like a prison, but is actually a hotel and ordered coffee for us and just gave us a warning and a map to our vacation house...

...where we finally got some sleep! or at least some of us.....

while the staff is having their legal ceremony and such we are preparing the cafe for the evening celebration. karl has watched his maid practice so here he is leading ruis in a close embrace tango, while momo and gracie are watching.

ruis' staff is getting married!

today ruis' typist is getting married to her long time partner and long before we even got the invitation the gang (asta, gracie, momo, opus and ollie, and myself) had already decided to crash the wedding anyhow!
we rented a nice little vacation house in heel, limburg, the netherlands where ruis lives.

then we took the MFV and drove over to ruis house to unpack our presents and the cake and set up for a nice cocktail party before the wedding.
we had just started to unload when ruis screams NO! and tells us we are actually unloading at the neighbors house, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

after moving to the right house we set up the wedding cake in the backyard and hide all inside of it, waiting for the humans to show up so we can jump out of the cake!

and after hanging the first decorations dive into the chocolate cake....

momo, ollie and gracie managed to get chocolate all over their pretty dresses and have to change! and momo has to bring in the back-up chocolate fountain as we have pretty much eaten up the other cake...

niagara falls aftermath

remember yesterday - when we left the gang all stuck in barrels going over niagara falls?
you might wonder how that ended..... today you will find out.
it turns out that the first barrel going over which ollie saw from her room had karl and ruis inside!!! yes, it was poor me, karl screaming for help........

it also seems they were the only ones to get their barrel over the falls in one piece....
here are gracie and barney.

asta and stanley don't look much better.

and poor momo and socks were lucky that the maid of mist was close by to rescue them!

and judging by the looks on opus and ollie's faces they won't do this again anytime soon...

but wait - here is another unbroken barrel - and it looks as if minime is ready to go back up and ride the falls all over again!

the crew of the maid of the mist was nice enough to give us all towels to wrap up in so we wouldn't catch cold while we waited for the police....

..who did let us go after we pointed out that while they might have posted this sign it is posted at a point were you really can not see it FROM the falls, right?

on our second day at niagara falls ollie was relaxing on her bed when she suddenly heard a loud scream!

looking through the hotel telescope revealed this picture:

the gang decided to check this out more closely but when they arrived at the falls they saw that gracie and barney were already hot on the track of the mysterious barrel! they probably watched too much CCSI and thought they try there hands on being detectives, hahahahahaha

and then minime who must have been somewhere in gracie's luggage showed up in a barrel all to herself!

after that the rest of the gang could of course not stand by idly and off they all go down the falls....

a valentine adventure

the gang - i, karl and my husband ruis, gracie and her friend barney, asta and stanley, momo and socks, opus and ollie - decided that valentine is as good an occasion for another trip than any! and what better and more romantic place to go to for valentines than - NIAGARA FALLS!!!
so we all gathered, picked up some barrels - just in case...

opus and ollie had the fabulous idea to treat gracie to a surprise trip for her first birthday in relation to her birthday theme: we are going to seuss landing in orlando florida!!! and of course momo, asta, me (karl) and ruis as part of the whole gang are going too. here you can see us arrive in the MFV.

Mrs. Oz is now officially an old decrepit cat, hahahahahahahahahahaha! She has bad gingivitis and needs to have pretty much half her teeth extracted... As she is only living with us for the past two years (she is 10) the maid and the butler blame the sorry state of her mouth on the former owners as we others all have excellent teeth!
We are waiting for her bloodwork (called a "senior wellness profile" with emphasis on SENIOR, hahahaha) and then a "dental" will be scheduled.

Please help purring for Mr. Tigger to come home!

And by the way - it is my (Karl's) Gotcha Day today which the staff forgot.
Again!
Their excuses: getting OZ to the VET (half an hour, several human injuries, peed on carpet, spiting, biting, hissing, etc. etc.) and being intoxicated. The maid is on heavy vicodin as she has the kind of ear infection where the doctor said "Oh my - this is worse than I thought, this is bad!"
Serves her well!

winner: Diamond Emerald-Eyes
Colored mousies will be hidden in blogs – if you want to participate you request a mouse from the organizer and will get one to hide in your blog – then everyone can look for those mousies. When you find one you email the color and the blog address and how it was hidden (in the sidebar, in a post graphic, etc.) to the organizer.
The cats (or dogs, or others) who find the most mousies in a given time will get an award.

winner: Milo and Alfie
Cats send in their “nude” (think “full monty q.”!) pictures and which month they represent (should be reflected in picture). Participating cats will pay an “entry fee” in the form of a donation to their favorite charity (does not have to be big!)
Winners for each month will be chosen and a “nude cat calendar” (‘calendar cats’, hahahahahaha) published.

third place: Curator
Every month a date is picked and that will be a “silly fake happy (whatever) day”. Ideas? Examples: Official Foot Floof Day, Mancat Day (nod to Whicky Whuudler there), Whisker Growing Day

Fin
A Hunt Week will be declared, where kitties could show off their hunting skills at their blogs. Can be text, pictures, hunting fancy feast, etc… Participants get a badge.

Maggy
The Sherwood Seven Search Day Challenge Now this is the most elaborate game of all! To try and explain it in short: It is a search (like an easter egg hunt) for the seven Sherwood kitties who each will be hidden in someone’s blog who volunteers to participate and hide one of them.

Derby
A scavenger hunt all throughout the CB where participants hide certain objects and for each participant a sentence with a hint of what is hidden will be posted on the CB.

The Crew
Anyone can choose a certain national/international "day" and then CB members tell a story, write a poem or post pictures having to do with that "day". Cats who choose should notify the CB in advance to avoid overlapping and should also promote that day on their blog.
Examples: National Ravioli Day? National PINK Day. International Box. Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Chey
A lot of photos don't get used. At the end of each month we should have an outtake day--maybe the last Thursday of each month--Thankful that we don't have to post these all the time Thursday.

MissPeach
Post a picture of YOURSELF in a frying pan with something very interesting also in the frying pan! Then tag another kitty to add another ingredient to the frying pan until the frying pan is filled with as many silly things as it can hold!

Socks, Scylla and Charybdis
Find a fun way to cool off and take a picture of it. Squirt each other with hoses, squirt guns, drop water balloons on each other and it goes without saying staff would be fair game.

Everyone should find blogging cats whose name starts with each letter of their humans name.

You can actually see an old note of mine there that was attached to a box of Turkish Delight which I gave the maid - the butler bought it for me but I wrote the note myself!
It says "Here is your chance to exercise self control in eating like I do. Purr, Karl".
Let's just say her exercise skills need some exercising....

Outdoor Cats...

As you may know we all were rescued from the outside and are still allowed to go outside during the day but not at night. We of course don't always obey....
Here you see how Notty broke out some nights ago. He was found the next morning sitting in the front yard.

And on the rare occasions when we have to stay inside during the day (staff knowing they'll be back only after sunset...) we try our very best to dig our way out as you can see by the destruction caused to carpet and cat door at the maid's place...

Here is the butler's cat door, Notty is just coming in:

They used to secure this with one brick at night...

...but I, Karl, just MOVED that out of the way and escaped! Now the door at night looks like this, hahahahahahahahahahahaha

And if the staff is around and locks us up too early - they get an earful! Same in the morning - we wake them up precisely five minutes before sunrise every morning with loud unhappy screams! Hahahahahahahahaha - at least they don't have to buy alarm clocks!

Cycle Of Life

With heavy hearts we have to tell you that we lost our sweet Luna June 17. We did not want to spoil the Dare, so we did not post about it at the time. A neighbor had seen a coyote chasing another neighbor's cat (he survived) that day in the morning (he told us the next day) and in the afternoon Luna did not show up and hasn't been seen since...
Notty and Tintin took it pretty hard but are getting better now.
Here are the very last pictures of Luna, and the last one demonstrates why we called this post "cycle of life". As predators we cats are part of a cycle of life which mostly is a cruel one.

Luna was a vibrant, effervescent bundle of energy and we miss her lively personality a lot!

And on June 21 Dame Edna and Coco Chanel joined us. They were found abandoned, malnutritioned and hungry under a car and needed a home.... The staff thought it might help Notty and Tintin and that seems to be the case. Both have by now started to play with the kittens, and the kittens have almost doubled in weight since they came! These pictures are about 2 weeks old, we will try and get more recent ones soon.

June 21, Edna and Coco's "Gotcha Day" also was the day when last year our sweet Emil left us to go to the bridge. We miss him - his little voice and his big paws, his mischievous spirit and his compassionate heart. Edna reminds us of him - just as bow legged, hahahahahahaha!
Emil's friends gave him a wonderful wake, and we want to post this picture today, done by Opus and Roscoe - who sadly enough also left for the bridge only three month after Emil - as a toast to Emil's glorious life, a small part of which you can see here!
You are in our hearts forever and we will always love you Emil!

IDYA#5 Results!

We have a winner! We actually have two winners - Diamond Emerald-Eyes with his "eastern egg hunt played with mousies" and Milo and Alfie with their "NUDE charity Calendar for cats" both won first place. Followed by the Curators "silly fake Happy (whatever) Day".
Now I know you are all on edges to find out what EXACTLY those and all the other ideas are - BUT: I sent the complete list of all entries to ML, as this was her birthday present, and she will decide what to do with it! If she publishes all entries in their entirety or has us all play them one after another - we 'll have to wait and see...
I am sure she'll let us know at the CB what she'll do!

I Dare You All..... (# 5!)

....to come up with an idea for a continual contest, game or treasure hunt or anything else fun that you can think of to be hosted at the Cat Blogosphere.

Oh my - after getting several awesome entries I realize that I might not have explained it well enough.... We are NOT looking for a Dare ("I Dare You All to...." - that is OUR job to do, hahahahahahahahahahaha) but a continual fun game (or contest or treasure hunt) to be carried out at / through the CB... if you are in anyway unclear about it, email me!

The idea to this Dare was inspired by Mom Robyn for ML's birthday who thought that ML would love to have just plain old FUN stuff to do at the Cat Blogosphere sometimes! Because ML works so hard for all of us " ...that all too often the fun gets set aside. She needs more fun." Mom Robyn said.
And so this Dare is our birthday present for ML.
We assembled a panel of judges to determine the winning Dare.
We will then help to put up and organize it at the Cat Blogosphere.
The judges are:
Cory, Sanjee, Zoey, Locket, Alexi

Every animal and human can participate, one entry per animal/human.
You have to have an active blog or Catster/Dogster page to participate but if you share a blog with others each one can enter.

Your challenge is to come up with an idea for a continual contest, game or treasure hunt or anything else fun that you can think of to be hosted at the Cat Blogosphere.

Please try and explain your idea as simple and clear as you can!!!
Please try and MAKE your idea as simple and easily executable as you can!
And remember: FUN - we want to have FUN, hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Two example entries would be...
1) Annual Cats in Hats Day, where cats get dressed up in any kind of hats once a year to have fun. It can be photoshop or real photos with a division for each.
2) A treasure hunt around the cat blogosphere, with the first clue starting at CB and a new clue at different cats blogs. Or with a list of things to find at different cat blogs (simpler).

As is tradition after a successful CCSI show we are having a cast and crew party! Here are the executives of Little Production, still on location at the Byrd Mansion, also known as Westover, in Virginia, trying to figure out where to have the party.

After a glass of that fabulous New Zealand wine that Momo brought along Ollie decides to climb up on a roof where she has an idea!

All agree that this might be the best idea - food is brought in, the famous house wine from The Cat Realm is added, and someone even put up some decoration. Here is the whole cast on the front lawn of the mansion.

The cast is eager to help with the preparing of the food (we wonder why?):
Fat Eric, Ayla and Luxor take care of the fish, while Miles, LC, Perfect Parker and Angus Mhor are grilling the chicken and beef.
Momo and Opus don't understand that Dr. Tweety and Sassy apparently already have eaten something.
Karl whispers something in Ruis's ear and Ollie has a conversation with Pearl while Titus and Asta try to keep an eye on all and everything to make sure the party doesn't go out of hand.

How We Spend Our Time

We finally got over our hangover and today we will show you some pictures of how we spend our time - which is mostly sleeping of course - but we do other things too. Not much different though....
Here I tell the story of the day when I walked out into the desert with the maid and the butler, far far away from home. So far that I actually got a little bit scared at the end and set a brisk pace on the way back home. But I do not mention that to the gingers...

Tintin likes to be "on the Red Carpet', hahahahahahahaha. You have seen this carpet in other pictures before but here you can see in the mirror image in the window what a glorious view we have from our Red Carpet! You can also see our stupid maid - couldn't she MOVE so she wouldn't be in there???

And here is a rare shot of Luna that is not blurry. She ALWAYS moves. And the moment she sees a camera she moves towards it - I wonder if that should tell us something...? She loves the tent, most times she manages to totally flatten it up...

Notty is not discriminatory in his choice of toys at all. Anything will do - but the little toy mouse to the left of the carrot (which incidentally is Mrs. OZ absolute favorite toy) is his most loved one.

And Mrs. OZ likes to lounge. Here she enjoys the end of the day sunset - and as you can see, she has her carrot with her. She always puts it on the maid's bed in the afternoon but it was found in front of the butler's door, out in the garden, under the table, on the porch and various other places over time.

I hope you enjoyed - now back to the Little Production Studios - we are in pre-production mode for CCSI 5 which is almost ready to air!!!! So yes, you can get excited and eager with anticipation now.

And we do have to mention that we got an award from Angel about a month ago.... I know, shame on us... Thank you Angel, we sure appreciate it!
