A proverb is a simple and concrete saying popularly known and repeated, which expresses a truth, based on common sense or the practical experience of catkind. They are often metaphorical.
Here is ours:
A lizard a day keeps the vet away.

It was fierce! It was fun! And it tells you that you don't reach anything anymore these days if you do not employ multimedia!
Karl was prepared for this unlikely occurrence of me not winning the monkeys and made this magnet for me. Thank you Karl, you are a true friend!
PLEEEEEAAAASE Monte, console me........

That means I once again have to make a STRONG case for me getting those darn monkeys!!! You can look at my original entry - which, by the way was the very first entry of all! - here.
And here is a picture of the maid, no more words needed. She even has a monkey TATTOO on her arm!

The Squillion Contest by jeter harris is coming to an end tonight.
It was a fierce competition and there are still a few hours left for some more entries...
Many cats made their cases for the wonderful prices and only the fact that us cats as members of the family Felidae are so much more evolved than members of the Primate family (where the beans would be in) saved us from something like pictured above!
We can't wait to see how the judges decide!!!!
Yes, jeter and judges, the maid took that picture herself!

And what Secret Paws they are! We feel overwhelmed and humbled. When we entered the Secret Paw thing we had just started blogging and we had no idea really what kind of a wonderful community we had found!
Just look at this: we got ORANGE toys, lots of them! And GLASSES! One pair red, one pair yellow. And a toy lizard on a string! But best of all, we FINALLY got Temptations! While we were wondering all this time what they were and how they taste... there was a package in our P.O.Box all along!
That was the first thing I did: nibble up some of the Temptations! They taste GOOD!!!!Next thing we tried on our new glasses, I think we look very splendid in them:Then we nibbled a bit more, and played some with the orange toys (Anastasia) and the lizard (me) and now we want to thank pour Secret Paw Caesar from the bottom of our hearts!

Can you believe it! I had caught a rabbit, and after nibbling a bit I left the rest for later.
And the big bad snake came by and stole it!!!
Good thing Anastasia is at the races in Ascot - she tries to play with these snakes because she thinks the rattle is a toy! Gave the maid an almost heart attack several times already!
I will restrict myself to raw beef, shrimp, butter and croissants for the rest of the weekend.
The butler said - after seeing the crime - he will provide!
Almost forgot: Dragonheart that wonderful kitten whose birthday is coming up this Wednesday is hosting the Weekend Cat Blogging! Thanks Dragonheart!

Our dear friend Daisy bestowed the Schmooze Award on us! We are honored and grateful beyond words! Thank you, Daisy!
Here is what schmoozing is all about:
"As it goes, schmoozing is the natural ability 'to converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection.' Good schmoozers effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello - all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship."
Each recipient is to post the badge on their site with a link to their post and bestow the award upon five bloggers. This was one of the hardest choices we ever had to make!!! Here they are, it adds up to 6 cats but we don´t care, they all schmoozed their way into our hearts and are valuable members of this wonderful blogosphere of cats:
Ali and Fiona
Jake and Bathsheba

Here it goes:
What were you doing 10 years ago? Having a good time somewhere before I reincarnated here again about 4 years ago.
What were you doing a year ago?
Pretty much the same as now: living with Anastasia in the desert with a maid and a butler.
5 songs to which I know all the lyrics
I do not care for human lyrics. Actually, I do not care much for music…
5 things you would do if you were a millionaire
Donate to charity
Donate some more
Start a lizard farm
Buy the maid a ticket to go around the world once
Build the butler a studio and house
5 bad habits
That is funny. I can´t think of any. And the butler always says I am a perfect cat. Sometimes I wake him up to early. But it is not a habit.
5 things I enjoy doing
Visiting with people
Playing with Anastasia
5 things I would never wear again
The beard from June 26
The hat from July 27
I never wore anything else. So far
5 favorite toys
Lizards. Hmm – that might be a bad habit actually – I do like playing with them and they get damaged sometimes when the butler doesn´t take them away in time….
My grass bush in front of the house
The string toy
The staffs feet
And I tag these wonderful cats:
I was asked to make a "We accepted the challenge" button for blogs with several cats. You find it here.
Yao-Lin asked for a tiara instead of the wig, so I gave him one. Let´s see if he will wear it and post a picture!

I am overwhelmed by the wonderful response to my first IDYA challenge!
Thank you for participating, I will visit everbody personally in the days to come and express my gratitude for the fun and laughs you gave me with all your beautiful pictures!
Everybody looked just outright AWESOME!!!
As a little thank you gift for your courage and bravery I made a button for you to display on your blog if you want to, you can also pick it up here.
The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals.
Please click on the purple box "fund food for animals" in the sidebar, go to their site, click for free and install the button if you didn´t do it yet. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.
And don´t forget to click a lot!!!
P.S: I almost forgot: I gave the wig to Daisy as a present, it just felt right for her to have it...
Sunday, July 8, 2007
That includes EVERYBODY! Girl cats and boy cats. Dogs. Other animals. Even humans!
Everybody liked the wig so much when I wore it at the last Fashion Friday that I could not resist to create this little meme.....
I Dare You!
Here is the wig:
